What is Stitch Fix?

Stitch Fix is a personalized fashion retailer. When you fist log on to Stitch Fix you fill out a Style Profile with information about your body type, budget, lifestyle and taste. The next step is to schedule your first fix. From there a stylist will handpick five clothing or accessory items for you. A styling fee of $20 is charged to your account when the stylist picks out your clothing. That $20 will be applied to any clothing you decide to keep.

When the clothing arrives, you have three days to try on the items and decide which ones you want to keep. Once you decide what to keep, log into your account to rate all of the items you received, explain why you did or didn't like each item, and confirm payment for what you're keeping. This information will help your stylist give you better items in the future and know what works for you. If you decide to keep all five you get a 25% discount off the purchase.

If you have items to return, place them into the prepaid mail envelope and drop it off at a USPS mailbox. Finally you can schedule a new fix or sign up for automatic fixes and repeat the process. Right now this service is only available in the United States.

What Will they Send Me?

Stitch Fix currently carries clothes in sizes 0-14. This includes pants, skirts, dresses, sweaters, shirts, coats, scarves, jewelry and bags. Usually your stylist will send you four clothing items and one accessory unless you choose to opt out of all accessories. One fix you might receive a necklace, shirt, skirt, jeans, and a dress and the next it could be all shirts. It depends on your preferences and what they have available at the time. They have over 200 brands including at least one exclusive to Stitch Fix.

How Expensive is Stitch Fix?

The average price of an item is $55, averaging a fix to be around $275.  If you are on a budget, don't worry when you fill out the Style Profile you tell your stylist what range you are comfortable paying for each type of item. Your stylist then does her best to pick items that reflect your preferences.

How is Stitch Fix different than other Clothing Websites?

Stitch Fix is not curated like other style websites, it is truly personalized to you. According to Stitch Fix no two clients have ever received the same selection of items. The stylist save you the time of looking through items and this allows you to be completely surprised when you open your box. Another benefit is that returns are easy and free, you just put the items in the prepaid envelope and drop it off at the mailbox.
